Preparing For Your Day Out Exploring The Waterways Of The Norfolk Broads

This Page Has Been Designed To Provide You With All The Information You And Your Group Should Need From Novice Upwards, So That You Can Enjoy Your Day On Board A Buccaneer Boat In Safety & Confident, Leaving You Able To Enjoy What The Waterways Of The River Yare Has To Offer.

The Map Shown Shows You & Your Group The Route For Your Day Out. The Area Of The Norfolk Broads that we cover is The Southern Broads, River Yare.

Buccaneer Boats Is Located at Brundall, from here you can travel to Norwich your end of navigation, for hire boats is at Norwich Yacht Station Which Will be clearly Marked. You can choose to moor here and go into the fine city of Norwich and you are ideally located for The Norwich Cathedral. This route takes from our base 2 .5 hours each way  depending on tide whether you are travelling with or against the flow.

ROUTE 1

On Route To Norwich you will pass Surlingham, Bramerton & Next Is The River Green at Thorpe, As indicated on the map you must lower all canopies to pass under the low railway bridge.  After This  Whitlingham Country Park and finally arriving In Norwich.

Brundall - Surlingham Ferry = 30 mins 

Brundall - Bramerton = 1 hr

Brundall - Thorpe Green = 1.45 hrs     

Brundall - Whitlingham = 2hrs

Brundall - Norwich = 2.5 hrs

ROUTE 2

The Second Route is from Our base at Brundall To The End Of Our Navigation For Day Hire Boats at Cantley, Reedcutters Public House. The Tide After This Point Becomes to Strong For Day Boats which Have Engine Speed Restrictions making it Difficult to navigate the strong flow of the river.

On Route You Will be Able to visit the beautiful Rockland Broad, taking in an abundance of bird & wildlife. You might then like to stop for lunch or a picnic at the Staithe and The New Inn Public House at Rockland. After Entering Rockland Broad Make your way back across Paying attention to stay between the channel markers at all times, and on to Cantley.

Brundall - Cantley = 2hrs
